| Injured SDPO SHIFTED TO AIIMS FOR SPECIALISED CARE | | Attacker's shirt found | | Jammu, May 24 Following slight improvement in the status of health of critically injured Sub divisional police office (SDPO) Youghal Manhas,injured in the Wednesday morning militant attack in Mendhar, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday instructed doctors attending on him in the Govt medical college to immediately shift him to countrys premiere health institution AIIMS for specialized medical care. Following CM’s instructions a heli-taxi arrived here in the evening and airlifted Youghal Manhas for specialized medical care to New Delhi. aA team of doctors accompanied heli taxi to care of injured police office during transit. Official sources said that the decision to shift injured police officer to New Delhi was taken after Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad intervened and passed necessary instructions to the senior health authorities to arrange for his immediate transportation. Chief Minister, while giving verbal instructions to senior health officials assured all possible means to ensure speedy recovery of the brave officer who is still battling one of the toughest battles of his life time. During his visit to the GMC here this morning Chief Minister also met family members of Youghal Manhas and prayed for his speedy recovery. It may be mentioned that critically injured SDPO Yougal Manhas was put on ventilator support immediately after the critical surgery on Wednesday and was being monitored by doctors. Meanwhile, according to reports, during the search operation police recovered a white colour shirt from a graveyard reportedly two km away from Mendhar town and also recovered 500 rupees cash from the pocket of the shirt. The eye witnesses of the yesterday attack have confirmed that the attacker was wearing the shirt. Meanwhile, Police investigating the matter and launched a hunt in the area to nab the militant. |
