Jammu, Dec 21: Defeating Marry Cricket Club in the summit clash, Khalsa Cricket Club won the title trophy at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Bakshi Nagar, Jammu here today. The tournament was organized by the New Hope Christian Union under the overall supervision of its Chairman Ch. Jarnail Khokhar Chairman of the New Hope Christian Union Organization J&K, Jyoti Momen, President NHCU, Masih Sunny Khokhar, Gen. Secy., NHCU and Fr Kuriakose, Chairman of the Christian Sports Organization J&K. Commissioner Municipal Corporation Kiran Wattal was the chief guest in which more than 32 teams participated. The final matches of the tournament were played between Khalsa Cricket Club and Marry Cricket Club. The winner team pocketed Rs 21000 as the prize money whereas the runner up team had to be contended with Rs 11000. Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Wattal said that such tournaments imbibe the sporting spirits among the players who bring laurels to the region, state, nation as well to their families. He said that the youth should participate in the sports events so that they should come up with excellence in the field to be recognized at national as well as international levels. |
