Jammu, Dec 21: Govt.College for Women, Parade Organized an Alumni Meet as part a of the series of activities initiated by the IQAC of the college, which is headed by Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Gupta, Prof.(Dr.) Anjana Gupta, convenor Alumnae Committee welcomed the guests. The principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Hemla Aggarwal, in her address informed alumnae that the GCW, Parade is privileged to be the first autonomous Govt.College of the state. She explained in detail about the role and functioning of the college after attaining the autonomous status. President, Alumnae Association, GCW Parade, Prof. Indira Rathore congratulated the college for attaining autonomous status, and shared her valuable thoughts with the audience. Vice President, Alumnae Association, Prof.(Dr.) Meenakshi Killam (University of Jammu), Prof. Rita Jitender (Ex-Principal) Prof. Kiran Bakshi (Ex-Principal), Prof. Parveen Sabarwal (Ex-Principal),and Ms. Anjali Sharma, Director-Doordarshan, Jammu were prominent among the alumnae who were present Music Department of the college presented a melodious programme “Shamm-e-Gazal”. Apoorva Jamwal an alumnae of the college and Mr. Rahul an alumnae of the college enthralled the audience with their performances. Mukteshi Sharma a PG student and Sonali Dogra student of Semester-Ist Department of Music, GCW Parade, also mesmerized the audience with their melodious voices. The cultural bonanza was followed by a lively ‘Discussions and Suggestions’ session, which was ably co-ordinated by Prof.(Dr.) Meenakshi Killam, Vice President .The alumnae suggested that the Association along with the college should reach every nook and corner to create awareness about the issues related to women, and also work for their empowerment. They further suggested a few things for the welfare of the college. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the staff secretary of the college, Prof.(Dr.) Amrit Kour, Shriya Raina of B.A 3rd year ably conducted the event. |
