No election in 24 seats reserved for PoK

Srinagar, Dec 22: Even as Jammu and Kashmir is set to get its new government in less than 24 hours from now, there will again be no representative from Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir (PoK).
As per the constitution of the state, 24 seats remained reserved for the people of PoK. However, no election could be held in PoK this time also. Seats in the Legislative Assembly (LA) also remained vacant for the PoK representatives. Polling in remaining 87 seats, spread over 22 districts of Kashmir valley (46 seats), Jammu (37 seats) and four in Ladakh regions on this side of the Line of Control (LoC) was held in five phases, which ended on December 20.
The counting will be held tomorrow in all the constituencies and the results declared by the evening.
