| Natrang honors 8 Ladakhi artists | | | Jammu | May 25 Natrang honored eight Ladakhi students for their outstanding contribution in Natrang’s performing arts wing. Balwant Thakur, Director of Natrang presented the awards to the artists. These artists were honored for their significant participation in Natrang’s prestigious programs like ‘Jashan-e- Kashmir’ held at Delhi Haat, ‘J&K Utsav held at IITF, Delhi and Jammu Festival 07’ at Mini Stadium parade, Jammu. The artists who were honored included Nilza angmo, Yangchan Dolma, Tsetan Dolkar Punchok Dolmaa, Stanzin Singe, Chhering Tundup, Jigmet Chosgyal and Tsering Norphel. Balwant Thakur while appreciating the young artists said that these artists have maintained the purity of their performing arts which will go on a long way in the preservation and propagation of the rich arts heritage of Ladakh. He further said that arts in the contemporary world have assumed a larger role and are playing a significant part in communal harmony, brotherhood and contributing much to the world peace. Among others who were present on this occasion included Neeraj Kant, Sumit Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Deepak Virdhi, Rohit Verma, Gourav Jamwal and Rahul Singh.
