| First public doctors interactive meet held at SMGS | | | JAMMU, MAY 25 To develop cordial relations between the patients and the medical fraternity, first of its kind, a public-hospital staff interactive meet was held today at SMGS hospital Jammu. This initiative has been made possible by hospital administration with the cooperation of Mr Vivek Gupta, founder chief of Jagriti Women Society Mission Rajouri. Medical Superintendent Dr. Yashpal Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The function was attended by CMOs, doctors, matron, other staff members and the attendants of the patient. Dr. Yashpal Sharma briefed the attendants about the dos and don’ts in the hospital, and advantages of the visitor’s charges, which are being deposited in hospital development fund, which is being used for the development of hospital. He also appealed the attendants of the patients to restrict the number of visitors in the hospital to avoid any inconvenience to the patients and their attendants. The house was then opened to the public and some of very valuable suggestions were received from the attendants of the patients for improvement of hospital services including creation of separate mothers feeding room in NICU, waiting hall for the attendants of the patients admitted in the NICU on the same floor, frisking of the attendants on the gate for not allowing them to take cigarette, beedies, gutka etc inside the hospital. The attendants also appealed other patients and their attendants to keep the wards, waiting hall etc neat and clean, use the dust bins, close the water taps and flush the toilets after use and consider the hospital as there own property rather treating it as government property. Later, mementoes were presented to the staff members working in Neonatal ICU who in spite very small in number have been working very hard. The Medical Superintendent thanked the patients, attendants and Mr. Vivek for organizing the 1st Patient-Doctors interactive meet and assured that such meets will be organized more frequently in future, so as to take feedback from the public for improvement of hospital services.
