Mangat greets people on Rakshabandhan

Srinagar, August 8, 2006 – Minister for Transport and Floriculture Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Rakshabandhan which is an example of unique love and affection between sisters and brothers.
In a message Mr. Sharma said that festival not only strengthens the ties between brothers and sisters but also cements solid bonds of love in general public. He said while tying a Rakhee on the wrists of a brother, sisters pray for well being and long life of brothers but at the same time they expect protection of worldly evils and customs of the society by their beloved brothers.
Mr. Sharma hoped that the day would bring peace, prosperity in the state and communal harmony among various section of society.
