JU conducts net test | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 28: Jammu University Vice Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma along with Sh Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor paid visit to various centres of examination within and outside university campus constituted for conduct of National Elegibility Examination(NET) and said that the examinations were being conducted smoothly. The Staff and students of the Centres were pleased to see when vice-chancellor conducted a visit to see whether the examination were being conducted properly within and outside university campus. Prof Sharma took rounds of the places where the examinations were held, interacted with Observers and supervisory Staff. On the sidelines of the visit to various Centres constituted for the NET test, Prof Sharma also paid surprise visit to the Central Library and in his interaction with the students and the Scholars gave patient listening. It is pertinent to mention here that the University of Jammu is one of the Coordinating Institution in Jammu province for the conduct of the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. A total number of 14 Centers for 55 subjects were setup for the conduct of the test. Out of which 6 Centers were constituted within the Campus and 08 in the Degree Colleges/Higher Secondary Schools. Total number of 11,160 candidates were enrolled (including 36 visually challenged) out of which 9067 appeared in the test. The visually challenged candidates were provided additional Braille facility along with a scribe for writing in the test. Prof. Naresh Padha acted as Coordinator for the said test. A team from CBSE was also present during the conduct. |
