JAMMU, Dec 28: Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), the 23rd State Championship shall start simultaneously at twin venues of GGM Science College and Mini Stadium, Parade, here tomorrow.
The opening function shall take place at GGM Science College ground, here at 3 pm tomorrow wherein Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal has been invited as chief guest.
In total, 44 teams, representing districts and those affiliated departments and clubs are taking part in this competition. Being host, Jammu district shall be fielding all its 12 clubs in this state meet, a handout issued by the Association here today informed.
It will be out of this competition that state team shall be selected by the Association for the upcoming 69th Santosh Trophy being hosted by Punjab at Jallandhar from January 10 to January 15.
Pertinent to mention here that in the last edition of the championship J&K Police had defeated the professional side of J&K Bank in the final. |
