One dies in road mishap | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 28: One died in road mishap at Shaheedi Chowk Kathua due to the negligence of traffic police early in the morning where no police man was present in busy chowk. Chand Shekher, (18) son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Moah, UP presently at Ward no. 4 died when his vehicle bearing registration no. PB-06,5850 skidded off and collided with Superfast Bus bearing registration no. JK02AN -6981, Jyoti Coach. The incident occurred due to the negligence of Traffic Police where Section Officer of Traffic Police himself accepted that 2 constables were deputed but none was present on the occasion. He accepted Traffic police is deputed only for Challan rather than control over massive traffic. Sunil Sharma alias Monu, a witness & social worker, said no traffic or policeman was present on the occasion. He alleged on traffic police and Police administration for not to control the traffic in most busy place where encroachment and such type of terrific incident are common. He added that deployed Policemen never control the traffic and busy with shopkeepers throughout the day. Monu demanded strict action against the constables who were deployed but absent from the duty during incident occurred. |
