| Wind storm strikes parts of state | | Two electrocuted, several others injured due to short circuit | | Jammu, May 26 At least two persons were electrocuted and several others suffered injuries due to short circuit at Rehni-Rembhal in Udhampur district during a strong wind storm that struck the area late last night. Sources quoting eyewitnesses disclosed that two persons were electrocuted and several others suffered electric shocks in a bid to avoid damage to their electric and electronic gadgets due to short circuit caused by high velocity winds. The injured were immediately shifted to different hospitals. According to sources, six seriously injured were shifted to district hospital Udhampur. During the wind storm lose distribution wires caught fire creating a panic in the entire area. People rushed to their homes to take shelter, while many of them suffered electric shocks while handling gadgets at their respective homes. The short circuit and voltage fluctuation also damaged several fridges, TVs and other electric gadgets. After the short circuit entire area was plunged into darkness, adding more woes to the people of the area, sources added Deceased have been identified as Bodh Raj 26 son of Shiba Nand and Sumit Sharma 20 son of Dev Raj both residents of Basti Kothi Malhar.
