| Soldier killed, another injured as militant triggered IED in Kashmir | | |
Kupwara, May 26
One Army soldier was killed and another injured after unidentified militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device at Khumriyal area early this morning.
The IED was set off when a Road Opening Party of army was searching Kupwara –Lolab road.
Sources quoting SSP Kupwara told News Agency of Kashmir that the IED was planted about 150 feet away from the road at Khumriyal. The IED was triggered soon after the Road Opening Party of reached near the blast site, sources added.
One soldier 38 medium Regiment died on the spot while another suffered injuries in the blast.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started a manhunt to nab the militants.
