| Adulteration detected in petrol pump, case registered | | | Jammu | May 26 Pursuant to the orders of High Court, a joint team of Crime Branch, CAPD and Traffic Police today carried out spot checking of petroleum products at service station at Sonawar in Srinagar and found them adulterated. The team seized the products and advised the operator of petrol pump to suspend the sale with immediate effect. Meanwhile, a case under section 420 RPC and 317 ECA has also been registered in this regard. A representative from BPC Oil Company along with its mobile testing Laboratory also accompanied the checking team. During inspection conducted in M/s Star Service Station Ist Sonawar Srinagar, it was detected that the sample of High Speed Diesel drawn by the mobile testing laboratory failed with respect to marker test which was found positive. Accordingly the operator of the concerned petrol pump was advised to suspend the sale of petroleum products with immediate effect. The act committed by the operators of the aforementioned retail outlet warrants a punitive action against its operators. Meanwhile, Crime Branch has registered a case under section 420 RPC and 317 ECA to hold detailed investigation into the matter.
