Coalition making hollow claims to create media hype: Sakina

Criticizing the Coalition Government for its failure on all fronts, National conference leader and Member legislative Council Ms Sakina Itoo accused alliance partners of making hollow claims only to creating media hype.
She said while much is being claimed on the name of development, but nothing has been done on the ground.
Addressing a public gathering at khuri Batpora in Noorabad area of kulgam, Ms Sakina said that despite receiving a huge financial package from center under various schemes nothing was visible on the ground, adding that Noorabad constituency witnesses zero development during all these years and the funds shown utilized have actually been mis-appropriated.
She said, lakhs of rupees were spent on the foundation laying function of the Aherbal Hydro project, but since after no one turned up to start the actual work. She alleged that not a single work has been taken up during last four and a half year of coalition government in Noorabad Assembly segment. She said if there is any road or building in any the area it was constructed during NC regime.
"Mere laying foundation stones won't help people any way, they need power, water, and health care" she said, adding that government has failed to provide even the basic facilities to the masses who voted them to power.
She said while coalition partners are busy in playing vote politics, common masses are being made to suffer for none of their fault.
Referring to the dilapidated condition of roads in the area, she questioned one wonders where the huge funds being received from centre go as noting is visible on the ground",.
The people of the area were provided with sub-standard seeds by the Agriculture department farmer community had to suffer losses due to the poor quality of the seeds.
"When National Conference took the reins of government in 1996, the state had lost all its infrastructure to the violence, however, eighty percent of the gutted bridges, school buildings and other infrastructure was rebuild that too by using the meager resources at disposal of the then dispensation", she said it is highly regretting that PDP and congress are trying to take the credit even for what was build during NC regime.
Asking political parties indulging in vote politics and raising hollow slogans, she said all their false promises have started melting like ice.
Earlier, a prominent PDP leader Abdul Hamid Wani along with his 100 supporters joined National conference. He was given warm welcome by the party leaders.
