| Red Cross organizes health camp | | | JAMMU, AUGUST 08 -Red Cross society organized today a health checkup camp at Jagti village near Nagrota. A team of doctors including Dr Kiran Chib and Para Medical staff under the supervision of Secretary Indian Red Cross society Jammu Mrs Santosh Magotra conducted checkup of over 130 patients that mostly included children and women. The patients were also provided free medicines. As a commitment made to the people of the area some time back, Secretary announced that holding of such health camps will be a regular feature and Red Cross will always extend its services in mitigating the suffering of the poor and needy people. In connection with the celebration of World Breast Feed Week, the Red Cross doctors also educated the women of the village about the importance of breast-feeding. Lastly, Mr Magotra addressing the gathering explained the health benefits of breast-feeding to both the mother and child and said that breast-feeding is very important for the overall development of the child. The members of Neha Ghar also spoke on the occasion. |
