Jammu | May 27 The 43rd death anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of modern India and the first Prime Minister of the country was observed throughout the state by Congress party along with its frontal organizations. To observe the day various functions were held, were people from various walk of life paid rich tribute to Late leader. While paying tributes, ex-MLA and president district congress committee, Jammu, Urban, Om Chopra describe Nehru a great statesman and a visionary leader, who throughout his life worked for the progress and prosperity of the country. He said, the role Nehru played in the formation of Non-Aliged Movement (NAM) for peace in the world, as its also become strong voice of the poor and small nations. Others seniors Congress leaders who also spoke on the occasion were MLC S. Parduman Singh, Yash Pal Khajuria, Th. Hari Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Krishan Lal Gupta, Raval Mattoo, Chaman Jain, Pawan Raina, D.S. Langeh, B.B. Gupta, Mansa Ram, Com. Jaswant Singh, M.M. Handa, S. Kirtan Singh, Mohinder Kumar Panotra, Kailash Rani, Padamani Langeh, Jagan Nath, Amar Chand, Madan Lal Malagar, J.K. Chopra, Pawan Sharma, Suresh Badgotra, Hussain Baksh, B.S. Mastana, Pankaj Shibbar, Rajinder Singh Pinkey, Deepak Jangral. At Akhnoor congress workers organized a function, was leader of the area paid glowing tributes. General secretary district congress committee, Jammu Rural, Harbans Bral, who presided over the function said, whatever progress country has made is due to Nehru’s broad vision. A similar function was held at village, Judel Melu in R.S. Pura Tehsil, were glowing tribute were paid to Late Nehru state secretary of the party. Darshan Raina, while paying tributes recalled the services of Nehru during pre-Independence and after independence. It was due to his efforts of Pt. Nehru who laid strong base for over all development of the country made during the last 60 yrs is all due to late leaders vision, he said, Prominent among those spoke on the occasion included Janak Raj Gupta, Subedar Sewa Ram, Dinesh Gupta, Gurdev Raj, Mohan Lal, Sham Mehra, Dharam Pal Dogra, Sardan Masih, Com.
