Jammu | May 27
Crime Branch produced a challan in fake driving license case in which one person produced fake license during traffic checking.
According to reports some years back Crime Branch received a complaint through Court of Additional Mobile Magistrate alleging therein that during traffic checking on August 2004, one Shair Ali Bisati S/o Manzoor Ahmed R/o Shalopora Sopore produced his driving license purportedly issued by licensing authority of Baramulla- Kupwara which did not seem to be genuine.
The matter was initially got enquired into through a preliminary enquiry and during the course of enquiry, the said license was proved a fake one and consequently the Crime Branch registered a case FIR No.39/2005 U/S 420, 471 RPC in P/S Crime Branch Srinagar for holding detailed investigation into the matter. During the course of investigation, Crime Branch investigators gathered the evidence apart from seizing the records relevant to the matter from the concerned authority.
The investigation further revealed that the aforesaid accused got the driving license in lieu of Rs.1300 from one Mohammed Altaf R/o Nogam Natipura. But during the course of investigation no such individual/ broker was traced. Crime Branch made efforts to trace out the said person but in-absentia of the full particulars the individual could not be traced.
The examination of records which were made available by the Regional Transport Authority to the investigating agency made it crystal clear that the driving license produced by the suspect before the Court during traffic checking was fake one. In this context the assistance was also sought from an expert of Forensic Science Laboratory where from it was also established that the driving license produced by the accused was not genuine one.
After completing the investigation of the case from all angles, Crime Branch charge sheeted the accused U/S 420/ 471 RPC and presented the same before the Court of Forest Magistrate Srinagar
