| Dreaded HM commander apprehended | | |

Doda Police, in a meticulously planned and nicely executed operation, apprehended a dreaded HM Coy Commander who was involved in many militancy related incidents.
The arrested militant has been identified as Nafiz Manwar Ahangar @ Irfan S/o Mohammed Manwar, retried Zonal Education Officer R/o Sujna Palmar from Kishtwar. He was active in Kishtwar, Palmar, Dachhan Marwah and Chatroo areas since 2004.
The apprehended militant has confessed his involvement in series of grenade blasts in Kishtwar viz. March 23 blast near Kishtwar hospital in which six persons were injured, September 24 ,2006 blast at CRPF bunker at Gudali Chowk, Hadyal Chowk blast in which three persons got injured and June 18 blast at Bus Stand Kishtwar resulting into injuries to five persons. He also admitted his involvement in the killing of a police constable namely Shanti Swaroop No. 564/D, at Punjrari on March 14 last. The said constable had worked outstandingly in anti-militancy operations and had executed successful operations in which a number of dreaded militants were killed.
After his arrest, the police took him to a safer place for interrogation and the interrogation was on when the report last came in.
Sources said recovery and more sensational disclosures are expected from his questioning.
Meanwhile in another incident, a joint party of police and army today busted a hide out and recovered some ammunition from the spot. According to reports on a specific information about presence of militants in the area, a joint party launched a search operation in Sarsi area of Doda district and during search busted a hideout and recovered UBGL 5, R S Motorola handset one and one Chinese grenade from the spot. However the search operation was on to apprehend the militants.
