NYK meet approves Rs 5.85 lakh plan for youth development

RAJOURI, AUGUST 08 - To channelise the energy of youth in constructive accomplishments in Rajouri, Rs 5.85 lakh action plan was approved for current fiscal in a District Advisory Committee meeting of Nehru Yuva Kendra held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Mr Parvez Malik.
After holding threadbare discussions on the implementation of the plan, it was decided in the meeting that Rs 27000 will be spent on youth club development programme (YCDP) with emphasis on formation of youth clubs and developing voluntarism and leadership qualities therein Thannamandi, Manjakote, Rajouri and Darhal block.
Block level youth club empowerment campaign will also be launched in these blocks to ensure formation of 160 youth clubs besides revival of 46 old youth clubs.
As many as 25 youth clubs too would be imparted political education with focus on working of Panchayati Raj System.
Under skill upgradation training programme, the departments of DRDA, Animal Husbandry and Horticulture, would impart craft training to nearly 200 youth in Gabba making, cutting and tailoring, poultry and pickle-jam at an estimated cost of Rs 50000.
On promotion of folk culture Rs 15000 would be spent by observing cultural festivals in Noweshera, Dholori and Koteranka during the year, while on celebration of National and International Days Rs 10,000 would be utilized.
In addition, 30 youth clubs would be mobilized for construction of three public utility projects including construction of water tanks, fishpond and water channel on voluntary basis and for the purpose Rs.339150 are proposed to be incurred.
