| I-Day arrangements finalized at Rajouri | | |
RAJOURI, AUGUST 08 -Arrangements being made in connection with smooth celebration of Independence Day function were today reviewed at a meeting of district officers meeting held here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mr Parvez Malik.
Besides district heads of various departments, the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent Police of Rajouri Mr Farooq Khan and officers of security agencies.
In order to ensure massive public participation the main function will be held at sports stadium Kheora this year where VIP will hoist national tricolor at 9 a. m sharp and take salute from the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Auxiliary Police, NCC and school children.
As per routine District Information Centre Rajouri will play Shehnai Vadan simultaneously at town hall, Gujjar Mandi Chowk and Jawharnagar from 5 a. m to 6 a. m on August 15 to set the atmosphere for national fervour and gaiety.
The reception committee headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue will make elaborate sitting arrangements for distinguished guests and general viewers. National and state level awardees of the district both in security and civil fields will be special invitees on the function.
The concerned departments will make necessary arrangements for power and water supply first aid and illumination of main offices. They were asked to make available these services right from rehearsal days beginning or August 10.
In addition, to cultural programme, including skits and folk dances by school children pigeon flying and release of gas filled balloons in the shape of national flag will be special attraction for the audience on the day. |
