| FFA organizes seminar on first war of Independence. | | |
Jammu | May 28 Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (FFA) today organized a seminar at New Modern Higher Secondary School to commemorate the 150th anniversary of India's first war of Indepen¬dence. The seminar presided over by Ved Gandotra President FFA was attended by a large gathering and addressed by host of speakers. Speaking on the occasion, the FFA President called upon youth and general public to understand the role of imperialist powers in the context of present globalization. He also impressed upon the students to emulate the spirit of the martyrs of 1857 and fight against the communal forces which are bent upon to vitiate the communal harmony prevailing in the country. The objective of the seminar was to remind the children about supreme sacrifices given by the martyrs for the sake of the country. Tarun Behel, Director of the New Model Higher Secondary School, who was the chief guest on the occasion, in his address praised the Association for organizing such a function to inspire the young generation. The seminar was also addressed by Pawan Gondhi who emphasized that the present struggle is the struggle to emancipate the masses particularly the middle and the working class from extreme exploitation and eco¬nomic deprivation. Others who were present on this occasion were Tej Ram Dogra, Ram Pal Singh, Sardar Gagan Singh, Jugal Kishore Sanjeev Bakshi and Amarjit Singh
