KATHUA, Jan 12: Motor Vehicle Department Kathua in collaboration with J& K Traffic police organized a medical checkup camp in connection with 26th Road safety week 2015 here today. The camp was inaugurated by RTO Lakhanpur, Mohd Nazir Sheikh in the presence of ARTO Kathua Salim Manhas. The camp comprising a team of five doctors of different specialization checked up eyes, blood pressure, blood sugar and other communicative diseases where besides transporters, staff members of RTO office were also consulted. Many other medical tests were also conducted to diagnosis the diseases. While addressing the participants, Md. Nazir Sheikh, RTO, stressed upon them to follow the traffic rules. He urged drivers for regular medical checkup especially eyes' that can bring safety during driving. He stressed to have complete reliable documents while driving. It is pertinent to mention that the theme of this year road safety week is "Safety is not just a slogan; it's a way of life." The main aim of road safety week is to motivate the people to obey traffic rules and ensure traffic discipline While interacting to media, RTO Md. Nazir Sheikh informed that the large number of people participated in medical camps where blood samples have also been taken to diagnosis communicative disease and ensured to continue road safety drive in future too. He informed there are several other relevant programmes which shall be organized in rest of celebrating week like Marathon, Training Prog., and Documents checking programme etc. |
