| Vigilance produces challan against L D Hospital official | | |

Today State Vigilance Organisation produced challan in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir against Mohd. Ismail Gojree Sr. Assistant-cum-Cashier, Lal Ded Hospital who was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.2000/- on September 9 last.
According to an official handout, on September 9, SVO registered a case [FIR No. 30/2006 P/S VOK U/S 5(2) P.C Act r/w 161-RPC] on a complaint lodged by Dr. Shazia Shafi, Assistant Surgeon, Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar alleging that the accused was demanding Rs.2000/- as illegal gratification for drawing her salary dues for the month of February 2004 which has been withheld by the dealing assistant for the last two years against extraneous considerations. In the course of investigation the SVO officials laid a successful trap during which the Sr. Assistant-cum-Cashier was caught red handed while accepting Rs.2000/- as bribe. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. He was taken into custody immediately and is at present on bail under the court orders.
After accord of sanction for prosecution by the Govt. the challan was produced in the competent court.
