| DFO’s services appreciated | | | Bhadarwah, May 29 Residents and prominent citizens of Bhadarwah have appreciated the services of outgoing divisional forest officer Forest Division Bhadarwah for his having streamlined the department and taking keen interest in putting an end to the timber smuggling thereby adopting peculiar methods of making public aware about the protection of the delicate environmental balance in the area. Speaking in an interaction meeting which was convened here today by the Forest Department, citizens while bidding a farewell to the DFO SK Trisal who is to attain his age of superannuation on 31st of this month said that since his having taken over as the head of one of the biggest forest divisions, the level of green tree felling has considerably come down and the smuggling of illicit timber from outside Bhadarwah has also been stopped. They said that it was possible only because of his personal interest to inculcate awareness amongst the population regarding the importance of trees particularly coniferous species that people realized it and themselves started coming out to say against the depleting forest wealth in this area. They wished the outgoing DFO a prosperous life ahead after retirement Prominent among those who attended the function include Javed Azad (President Bhadarwah Municipal Committee), Advocate Naresh Gupta, Dr. Shahid Moghal (CMO Jammu), Ashok Kumar Sen (CEO Doda), Shabbir Choudhary, Dhanantar Singh Kotwal, DFO’s of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar forest divisions beside SDM Gandoh Balwan and Abdul Hafiz Wani.
