| PK demands probe into allotment of Muthi camp quarters | | | Jammu May 29— Launching a scathing attack on state government; Panun Kashmir and Displaced Kashmiri Welfare Association today demand a probe into the allotment of the quarters constructed at Muthi Camp Phase-II, which were started in 1991-92 and till date are in constructing stage. “The quarters, which are completed, according to the experts the life span of these are not more than seven years. Hardly after two years of the completion, the domes of the quarters started leaking during the rains,” president of Displaced Kashmiri Welfare Association, Piare Lal Raina said while addressing a press conference, here today. He added, “According to the report of non-ministerial officials, which was submitted by the chief of the committee Sushma Chowdhary; these are the worst-ever constructed quarters and are not up to the living standards of the human beings. Kuldeep Raina general secretary of Panun Kashmir said, “At the time of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to migrant camps, he had announced construction of room sets in the shortest possible time span. But again due to the slow pace of construction the Governor and CM had to intervene to complete the construction and even order double shift work to execute the same, but due to the non-serious nature of government the work is again is in shambles.” Issuing a warning to the government, All displaced Kashmir Welfare Association announced that they will launch agitation if the government fails to complete the construction of quarters in time bound manner.
