| VO produces challan in education scam Pulwama | | |

The Vigilance Organization today produced challan of case FIR No. 57/1998 in the court of Special Judge Anticorruption, Srinagar, against Abdul Majid Bhat and Mohammed Sultan Ganai, the then Chief Education Officers Pulwama and their clerical staff for alleged illegal appointments made in the education department during the years 1995-96 and 1998.
This case registered in Police Station Crime Branch, Kashmir on March 2, 1998 was initially investigated by the Crime Branch Kashmir but subsequently it was transferred to Vigilance Organization by the Government on February 21, 2000.
The investigation of the case established that 23 illegal appointments were made by these two Chief Education Officers, Pulwama Abdul Majid Bhat S/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/o Rawalpora and Mohammed Sultan Ganai in connivance with Habib Ullah Malik, Sonaullah Khan, Abdul Rehman Khan and Mohammed Ramzan the Head Assistants, Mohammed Aslam Malik, the then senior assistant and Ghulam Hassan Ganai, the then junior statistical assistant, the co-accused in the case.
