| Centre releases Rs.6. 57 cr to J&K under SGRY | | | JAMMU, May 29 The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released grants-in-aid amounting to Rs. 6.57 crore as third/additional installment of Central assistance to 11 districts of Jammu and Kashmir State for implementation of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana(SGRY) during the financial year 2006-07. Of this, the four districts of Jammu get Rs.288.95 lakh while five districts of Kashmir Valley get grant-in-aid of Rs.276.02 lakh and Ladkah division gets Rs. 92.6 lakh. Jammu district gets the highest allocation of Rs.83.15 lakh for implementing the centrally sponsored scheme followed by Udhampur district which gets Rs.78.62 lakh. Rajouri district has been allotted Rs.68.15 lakh while Kathua district gets Rs. 59.03 lakh as grant-in-aid. Similarly, in Kashmir Division, Anantnag district gets the highest allocation of Rs. 65.32 lakh followed by Rs.62.03 lakhs to Baramulla while Badgam district gets Rs. 49.43 lakh, Pulwama Rs. 51.58 lakh and Srinagar district Rs. 47.66 lakh. For implementing the scheme in Ladakh Division, Leh district has got grant-in-aid of Rs.50.19 lakhs while Kargil district has been allocated Rs.42.41 lakhs. The Sampoorana Grameen Rozgar Yojana envisages creation of additional wage employment in the rural areas as also food security, alongside the creation of durable community assets social and economic infrastructure in the rural areas. The programme is self-targeting in nature with special emphasis to provide Wage Employment to women, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and parents of children withdrawn from hazardous occupations and Union Territory Administrations
