IRCS free medical camps from June

JAMMU, MAY 29
Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu in collaboration with Health department is organizing free eye and medical camps during 2007-2008.
In this connection free eye and medical checkup camps will be held at Gujroo Nagrota (Billawar) on June 7, at Block Kot Bhalwal on July 7 at Gajansoo (Marh) on August 7, at Jajjar Kotli (Dansal block) on September 7, at Katra (Reasi) on October 6, at Channi Targal (Akhnoor) on November 7, at Block Satwari on December 7, at Block Bishnah on January 7, 2008, at Block Parmandal on February 7, 2008 and at Block R.S Pura on March 7, 2008.
The camps would be conducted under the supervision of Secretary Regional Red cross committee, Jammu Mrs Santosh Mangotra.

Toldi Nallah accident: three dead, two injured
UDHAMPUR, MAY 29 (INFO):- Three persons were killed and two others injured when a truck rolled down into a deep gorge near Toldi nallah on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway about 15 km from Udhampur town last evening.
The ill fated truck bearing registration No JK02N 2771 was carrying a total of five persons including the Driver and Cleaner.
Those killed have been identified as Yashpal Singh (Driver) S/o Suraj Singh, Kuldeep Singh S/o Parkash Singh both resident of village Banth of Tehsil Chenani and Pritam Singh (Cleaner) S/o Chuni Lal R/o Ghordi of Tehsil Ramnagar.
Taking a swift action the district and police administration launched rescue operation to trace the injured and dead. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. O.P.Kalandria, SSP, Mr. P.R. Manhas, Additional SP, Mr. Anil Magotra and other senior officers are personally monitoring the rescue operation.
The Deputy Commissioner, who visited the spot, also told that in the operation besides local support, 10 Engineer Regiment of the Army also extending full cooperation to locate the missing dead bodies. He further told that two injured persons were rescued last evening and admitted in the District Hospital, Udhampur while as one dead body was fished out today by the Engineer Regiment. He expressed confidence that remaining two dead bodies would also be recovered.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed the GRIF authorities to constructed parafit right from Toldi nallah to Samroli besides widening of sharp curves to avoid frequent road accidents.
