Father-Daughter duo demand threat to country’s integrity: AKPSC
5/30/2007 12:00:10 AM

Jammu | May 29
The Political Affairs Committee of All Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference (AKPSC) which met under the Chairmanship of O.N. Trisal, President AKPSC has expressed deep shock over the half hearted response to the disruptive activities of PDP leadership by the Central Government and constituents of UPA.
‘The demands put forth by the Father- Daughter duo are open challenge to the unity and territorial integrity of the country and the persistent denigration of the armed forces is a planned offensive aimed at painting Indian Army and security forces as colonial oppressors while the terrorist hordes are described as the victims of the oppression let loose by India, the AKPSC said and asserted that no Indian can ever stand for such a vilification campaign’. The Muftis only problem in Kashmir is how soon the security forces can be withdrawn from populated areas in the region’, the AKPSC observed.
The party in a handout issued here today said that Indian forces comprising patriotic Jawans and Officers from all regions of the country can be described without any fear of contradiction as the most disciplined force in the world representing the spirit of Indian unity.
The handout asked as how long the Centre would tolerate such anti-national elements?’ Normalization of relations with Pakistan is a welcome step but Kashmir is not to be battered away as a price good relations, the AKPSC maintained adding that we have to be firm in our resolve to eliminate elements that mislead the people in the name of Indo-Pak amity. ‘We can not brook the idea of with drawl of forces that have all along protected the masses from the vicious designs of terrorist trained in Camps across the border and the statement issued by the Defence Minister A.K. Anotny is welcome, but the party in power and its allies have not to dither on the basic issue of unity and integrity of country, the handout added.
‘There should be total unanimity among political parties that the question of accession is settled for all times and that there is no scope for re-opening of the issue. Let us silence the disruptionist voices raised by people who till the other day tasted power under the benign dispensation of the Constitution of India and the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir that declares unequivocally that Kashmir is an integral part of the Union of India’, the AKPSC remarked.
Among others who participated in the meeting were Rajni Bhat, Opinder Bhat, M.L. Sopori, P.L. Aima, and Anita Koul.
