| Rasa Javidani’s 29th death anniversary observed | | | Kishtwar | May 29 A cultural evening based on Rasa Javedani’s Urdu and Kashmiri poetry enriched the audience, when Tariq Tarash and Khalid Shahabadi recited his verses at a jam packed gathering here last evening. The Program was organized by Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society (RJMLS) to mark the 29th death anniversary of late poet, Rasa Javedani. Tarash recited the famous couplet of Rasa Javedani: ‘Mujhe Aise Mazhab Se Rasa Nahi Hai Vasta, Jahan Khoone -e -Murdam Halal Hai Aur Surkh Pani Haram Hai’ while Khalid Shahabadi recited another famous couplet ‘Kehne Ko Rasa sab Kehte Hai, Un Tak To Rasai Ho Saki, Kai Naam Sikander Rakhne Se Jab Bakhte Sikander Ho Na Ska.’ Khalid Shahabadi won great applause when he presented a Kashmiri Ghazal of Rasa Javedani which he had dedicated to his son Prof. Kherat Mohammed. Ibne Rasa, the former Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Lahore. On this occasion , Urdu and Kashmiri Musharia was also organized in which Ms. Anjum, Riaz Tajassus, Shafiq Javed, Syed Majid Kamal, Majid Jamali, Dr. Tamkeen Kishtwari, Sajid Kishtwari, Sheikh Rayees Zahid and Qazi Mansoor Ghouri recited their poems. The writers, intellectuals and prominent citizens present on the occasion appreciated the role of RJML Society for organizing such colourful programmes in a remote area. Such programme would definitely promote the National Integration and communal harmony in the state, they said. Though his poetry is romantic but it gives a message of love and mutual brotherhood. Dr. Tariq Tamkeen, President RJMLs conducted the proceedings and presented the vote of thanks.
