| Doda police apprehends HM militant | | |

A hardcore militant of HM outfit was today arrested by Doda police after an encounter in the area. According to reports, today police received information regarding hiding of some militants in Sinthan area under the jurisdiction of police station Chatroo. A police party swung into action and cordoned the area while launching a search operation. During searches, the militants who were hidden in the area opened fire on search party that retaliated in turn and after a long encounter one hardcore militant namely Abdul Majeed alias Shaheen son of Abdul Gaffar resident of Singhpura, Chatroo was apprehended by the police party. Sources said the said militant was active in the area for quite some time and involved in various militancy-related incidents. He is being put to sustained questioning during which recovery and some more sensational disclosures are expected.
