| Education a vibrant movement, Wani | | |

A rousing reception was given to MLA Doda and former Minister Abdul Majeed Wani by the people of Bharath area and the students of Government Higher Secondary school on his visit to the area today.
The MLA, besides attending the Annual Day function of the school, also interacted with the villagers and listened to their problems.
The MLA, who was the Chief Guest at the annual day function of the school, has urged upon the teaching community to inculcate the spirit of patriotism and moral values among the students, who are the future hope of the country. ‘Any laxity is grooming the student in his childhood would be detrimental for his career’ he said and impressed upon the teaching community to give in their best to the wards to enable them to become responsible citizens.
Wani threw light on the importance of education in the present day scenario and maintained that education is not merely a department but a vibrant movement which can swiftly brim an intellectual revolution in the state. Education means all round development of the child and the society as a whole, he added.
On this occasion, the students presented a colourful cultural program depicting the rich culture of the state. The students also presented a Kashmiri welcome song in honour of MLA.
Among others present on the occasion were Zonal Education Officer, Block Development Officer Gath, prominent citizens, parents and respectable citizens of the area.
Earlier the Principal of the school in his welcome address read out the annual report of activities of the school.
