| DLF stages protest dharna in support of separate statehood | | |
Jammu May 30—
The Dogra Liberation Front (DLF) today staged dharna in support of its demand for grant of separate state hood to Jammu region.
Speaking on the occasion, Ram Parkash Sharma President, DLF said that right from the day of accession of J&K State with India the people of Jammu region have been facing discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri leaders. Granting separate hood to Jammu, he said would a long way to end this discrimination once for all, he added.
Sharma said that the DLF is also presenting a memorandum to the President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to seek his intervention in getting justice done to Jammu region which has been discriminated all along by the Kashmiri rulers.
Pinki Bandral, Vice-President DLF who also to the protestors alleged that the local leadership of Jammu region is playing in the hands of Kashmiri rulers for their vested interests as a result of which Jammu is continuing to suffer.
