| PNB distributes Rs. 5 cr loan at Kathua | | Bank to expand its credit portfolio to Rs.1000 cr by March next: Ramzan | |
Kathua May 31 The Punjab National Bank today disbursed loans amounting to Rs. five crore under Utsav Muskan scheme at a function organized at Government Degree College here today. The Deputy Commissioners Ms Sarita Chouhan was the chief guest while DGM Chenab Textiles Mills Kathua B P Pareek was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Zonal Officer of the Bank, J&KZone Ramzan Mohammed said that in these Ustav programmes, the bank proposes to disburse fresh loans amounting to Rs.400 cr during the current fiscal to expand its credit portfolio to more than Rs.1000 cr till March next. He said PNB is a leader in Asia in terms of largest number of networked branches working under centralized banking solution known as ‘anywhere banking in the common terms’. He said that out of eight branches in the district, two are already core banking adding that three more branches are being covered under this facility during the current year. The Deputy Commissioner who inaugurated the function appreciated the bank management for conducting such like functions and inviting cross sections of the society to the loan distribution- cum- workshops. She stressed the need for holding more such camps and also requested the other banks to emulate PNB in this field.
