| Outbreak of Jaundice reported in Udhampur villages | | Shiv Sena protests against callous attitude of Health authorities | | JAMMU AUG-8- The activists of Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Sena Udhampur today took out a procession under the leadership of its General Secretary Ashok Gupta against the callous attitude of the health authorities towards the patients. The procession started from Panjthirthi and culminated at the Director Health Services office here after passing through Kachi chowni and Dogra hall. The activists raised slogans against the Health Department for their grave ignorance to provide medicines and treatment to the villagers of Panchari, Balta, Glote and Biota affected by jaundice and dehydration in Udhampur district. They alleged that so far 38 cases have been reported from these villages with health authorities watching all this as silent spectators. In the meantime, Deputy Director Health Services (HQ) Jammu in a fax message to Chief Medical Officer Udhampur has directed him to immediately constitute a committee for the reported outbreak of jaundice in Panchari area and depute a team of doctors and other requisite staff with sufficient quantity of chlorine and other allied drugs and furnish the detailed compliance report within three days.
