| JP against lottery system for intending Hajis | | | JAMMU AUG-8
Strongly criticizing the state government for its negative attitude towards the aspiring Haj pilgrims from Jammu region, the Janata Party (JP) in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Mohammed Sadiq Poswal Secretary, alleged that Jammu continues to get raw deal.
Poswal said that there was no need of lottery system as only 1290 applications were received against 1323 seats allotted for Jammu division adding that Jammu hajis should be allowed to go via Delhi instead of Kashmir .
Nazir Ahmed, Raj Mohammed, Mohammed Latif, Arif Hussain and Zakir Hussain were also present in the meeting.
