| Surrendered militant abducts housewife, no police action | | Husband announces reward of Rs.20, 000 | |
Kishtwar | June 1 A reportedly surrendered militant, father of two minor children, Manzoor Ahmad alias Nissar Ahmad, 35, son of Fateh Mir of Seraz (Gundana) of District Doda, has abducted a 45 year old woman namely Sharifa Begum, wife of Abdul Gani Rather of Keshwan area of Kishtwar, reportedly mother of seven children. Narrating this story to this correspondent, the husband of the woman said that that the accused, a surrendered militant, was a labourer with Mohammed Yusuf Parrey, a contractor, who was assigned work in Keshwan area and incidentally he cultivated some friend ship with him and used to visit his house off and on for the last six months and the accused was treated by me as one of my children. On March 1 last, my wife came from her residence and as she reached the Bus Stand Kishtwar at 10 in the morning, she met with his illegal partner one hour later, as per their programme. Both had taken tea at a nearby hotel of Mohammed Shafi Khan and at about 1 in the afternoon they left the city for onward journey to their fixed destination by bus to Doda. The husband also alleged that in the abduction scam, Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammed Saber Lone, Shahnawaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Aziz Mir of Seraz (Gundana), besides wife of the accused Gulshada Begum, were also involved and they too are equally responsible for the abduction of her wife. The husband lodged a complaint in the Police station Kishtwar but so far no action has been initiated. The husband further disclosed that as per his sources, his wife along with the accused have recently shifted to Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) to enjoy the charming climate. The husband has also said that instead of providing a help, the in laws are alleging that their daughter was killed by me and have started giving threats. The husband with innocent tears in his eyes has declared that his heart is still filled with the flowers of love for her disloyal wife and if she returns home without making any further delay for the sake of her children, who are eagerly waiting for her, I will for give her. He has requested the police authorities both at district and divisional level to come to his rescue by recovering his abducted wife from the clutches of surrendered militant and has also announced a reward of Rs. 20,000 to that person who will present his wife along with the accused before him. He alleged that the local police was doing little in tracing out his wife and said that he would not even hesitate to meet the Chief Minister to seek his intervention in tracing out his wife and arrest of the accused.
