| Com / Secy Finance, Law appear in Court on court directions | | | JAMMU, JUNE 01
Following directions from the Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice YP Nargotra, seeking presence of government officers in PIL by the State and Others, Mr. BB Vyas Commissioner/ Secretary Finance and Mr. AH Kochak Commissioner/ Secretary Law were present in person in the Court today.
Mr. Vyas told the Court that the proposal sent to him by the Law Secretary for the creation of posts and their grades was cleared by him without consuming any time. He candidly stated that in fact the proposal was cleared within two days by him. Upon this the DB appreciated the action taken by Vyas in the matter. However, the proposal was deferred by the cabinet on May 17 last and is being re submitted in due course of time.
DB after hearing Advocate PN Raina appearing for the appellant, Mr. BS Salathia AAG for appellant No 2 and Mr. Joginder Singh General Secretary High Court Staff Welfare Association observed that some discrepancies have crept in the earlier proposal of the Law Department with regard to the creation of posts as well as the grades. Commissioner/ Secretary Law Mr. Kochak stated that a fresh proposal will be prepared in this regard in consultation with the Registrar General of the State High Court within two weeks and the same would be submitted before the Finance Secretary. Mr. BB Vyas Commissioner/ Secy Finance stated that the moment proposal is put up before him; he would clear the same within a week. DB said that in view above, Mr. Vyas need not appear before this Court and exempted him from his personal appearance till further orders. However, Mr. AH Kochak would place on record the revised proposal on the adjourned date accompanied by the concurrence from the Finance Department, the Division Bench directed.
