GCW Parade organizes exhibition

Jammu, Jan 31: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade Ground, Jammu held week long activities by organizing a Science Model Exhibition, Science Poster Exhibition and a Science skit entitled 'Manthan'.
The programme was sponsored by the J&K State Council of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, J&K Government. Prof. Satish Bhan, Prof. Poonam Kamotra, GGM Science College and Dr. Yash Pal, University of Jammu were judges for the competition.
Earlier the College organized an Inter-college symposium on 'Healthier choice for a balanced life style'. A total of 14 speakers from different colleges of the city participated in the program. The students presented their ideas on different sub-themes of the symposium, viz., good dietary intake, management of lifelong ailments, keeping a healthy physique, effects of junk food and fad diets among youth, obesity and maintenance of healthy body weight.
The judges of the program were Sunita Razdan, J&K State Council for Science and Technology, Prof. Ranjeet Jamwal, GGM Science College and Pallavi Sachdeva, University of Jammu. A Science quiz competition was also held in the College wherein a total of 8 teams participated comprising of 4 students each. The College held a Prize distribution ceremony on for the series of programs conducted under the sponsorship of the J&K State Council for S&T. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Shafat Sultan, Additional Director, J&K State Council of Science and Technology and Sunita Razdan was the Special Guest on the occasion.
Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the college greatly applauded the activity and thanked the funding agency for supporting such programs. Dr. Pragya Khanna was the Coordinator of the Program. Prof. Neeraj Kumar and Prof. Sumita Dham were the In-charges of the events. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Avinash Gupta.
