BJP asks people not to allow pro-Pak parties to hold rallies in Jammu
6/4/2007 12:28:49 AM

Jammu, June
The state unit of the BJP has appealed to the people of Jammu region not to allow pro-Pakistan and pro-separatists organizations, including PDP, to hold rallies in Jammu as they are demanding demilitarization, self-rule and autonomy to further their cause.
The appeal was made at a convention of party workers here today which was presided over by state unit Chief Ashok Khajuria. The convention was organized by the Jammu East Mandal.
On the occasion, Khajuria accused the Congress led coalition government for having failed to fulfill the promises it had made in 2002 Assembly poll. He said, besides its failure in tackling poverty, unemployment water and electricity crisis, the ruling coalition has not done anything to remove regional disparity.
He said, in fact, the level of regional disparity had increased since the coalition government was formed in the state. He targeted Congress led coalition government for denying citizenship rights and giving due relief and compensation to refugees of West Pakistan, Pok and those of 1965 and 1971. He said the time has come when the Jammu based leaders, who have always worked against the interests of Jammu and bowed before Kashmiri leadership for personal gains, be taught a lesson.
Ashok Khajuria, on this occasion, declared that the BJP will be winning 15-20 seats in the next assembly elections and give first Hindu Chief Minister to the state. He assured the gathering that BJP will end 60-year discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh
Khajuria also welcomed prominent political and social workers in the party fold. Janta Dal leader Rahit Hussain, Congress leader Ashok Gupta, NCP leader Shoukat Bhatti and Panthers Party leader Balbir Singh joined BJP and were garlanded by the party chief.
Daya Krishan Kotwal, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Yudhvir Sethi, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Sat Sharma, Bansi Lal Bharti, Rajesh Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Mohan Singh, Subhash Jandial, Jagdiash Kumar, Ex-MLA Prem Lal, Karan Singh, Krishan Lal Gupta and several other leaders also addressed the rally.
