JAMMU, Jan 31: Police today claimed to have arrested three narcotics smugglers and effected recovery of approximately 1.0 kgs of charas from their possession during a naka in locality falling under Police Station Gandhinagar.
Police sources said, "The accused have been identified namely as Pardeep Bhau of Channi, Shabnam Hussain and Nazir Ahmed both residents of Anantnag."
"On specific information, a team led by Inspector Paramjeet Singh raised a naka at Gandhi Nagar and intercepted three persons riding on a bullet motorcycle, police sources said.
They said that during frisking police recovered around one kgs of charas from their possession. Later, the trio was arrested while contraband along with motorcycle was seized.
Police sources said that a case in this connection has been registered while further investigation is in progress. |
