| Sanskrit Bachao Andolan gains momentum | | |
Jammu June 3 Keeping the ongoing Sanskrit Bachao Andolan in view a joint meeting of various organizations was held at Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Parade Ground here today. During the marathon meeting, the members discussed various issues for the revival of one of oriental language of the world and deliberated upon the sheer neglect of the Sanskrit language on the part of the successive governments in the state. During the meeting the members put forth various demands to the state government for the revival of the Sanskrit Language in the state. The demands highlighted during the meeting included introduction of Sanskrit as compulsory subject from Sixth standard onwards; reprinting of Sanskrit manuscript, candidates with Sanskrit language should be given preference at Ayurvedic Education Centres/ Colleges; introduction of Sanskrit programmes on air and publication to promote the language and establishment of Sanskrit at University level as agreed to by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The meeting among other was attended by national executive member BJP and ex state president of party Dr Nrimal Singh, Chander Mohan Sharma president Prajha Parishad (J&K) and others. Seniors executive members from various organizations including BJP, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Parade, Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh; Vishavh Hindu Parishad, Shri Amarsingh Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Arya Samaj (J&K), Mahajan Sabha, ABVP; NCSU; JJSM also attended the meeting.
