| Two Al-Badr militants killed in Wuyan | | | Srinagar June 3 Security forces today claimed to have killed two Al-Badr militants in Wuyan area of Pulwama district of South Kashmir, besides arresting an over ground worker of Hizbul Mujahideen from Hanga Handwara in North Kashmir. Police in a joint operation with Army gunned down the unidentified militants after developing specific information of their presence at far off village Wuyan of Pulwama. Acting on specific information, Awantipora Police along with 50 RR cordoned off Wuyan area in Khrew, and started house to house searches and zeroed in onto the target, official sources told News Agency of Kashmir. The militants hiding in the house of one Muhammad Yousaf Bhat son of Muhammad Ramzan opened indiscriminate fire on the search party which led to a fierce encounter, they added. In the ensuing encounter two Al-Badr militants were gunned down. The slain militants have been identified as Dawood alias Tahir of Suba-Sarhad Pakistan and Abdul Rashid alias Gani Driver R/O Danak Mohalla Khrew. Two Ak-47 rifles, five Magazines, 84 rounds of ammunition and two mobile phones were recovered from the site of encounter. Meanwhile, a patrolling party of 30-RR apprehended one OGW of HM outfit from Handwara area. The arrested person has been identified as Azad Ahmad Baht son of Abdullah of Shotgund Payeen. He was reportedly arrested from a far off village Hanga falling under the jurisdiction of police station Handwara. The apprehended person is allegedly an associate of a dreaded HM militant Mushtaq Ahmad Malla. Two UBGL grenades have been recovered from his possession and the police has registered a case in this regard.
