JAMMU, Feb 2: Three weeks long UGC Refresher Course in Physics & Electronics being organized by Academic Staff College (ASC), University of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Physics & Electronics commenced today.
Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu (JU), Prof RD Sharma, who was chief guest on the occasion, formally inaugurated the course in presence of staff of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sharma said that teachers are theimportant components of the society and they need to upgrade their knowledge so that they can disseminate the same to the students.
Therefore, such courses should not be taken only as eligibility requirement for promotion.
Prof Sharma further said that from time to time teachers should get themselves evaluated by the students by the way of feedback.
Prof Sharma complimented the ASC for their various recent initiatives. Around thirty five college and university teachers are attending the course. Prof SK Badyal, Guest of honour and Prof Naresh Padha also spoke on the occasion. Earlier in his welcome address, Prof Vivek Gupta, Head Department of Physics & Electronics and the Coordinator of the Course discussed the need of such courses for the Society.
