Jammu, Feb 2: The International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICCCR & HRM), University of Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Chapter National HRD Network, organized an Awareness Seminar on 'Enterprise and Entrepreneurship' in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, seeking opportunities in Tourism, Agro Products and Handicrafts". The students of MBA, International Business (MBA-IB) at ICCCR and HRM and The Management School, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu were the target audience for the Seminar Annil Suri, President BBIA and Vice-President, Jammu Chapter, NHRDN, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director, ICCCR & HRM, University of Jammu and President, Jammu Chapter, NHRDN, KK Goyal, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Jammu, Deepika Rana, Development Officer, JK Handicrafts, Prof. BC Sharma, Dean Student Placements and Secretary, Jammu Chapter, NHRDN, Dr. Rajendra Mishra, Associate Professor, The Business School, University of Jammu, Dr. Anil Gupta, Assistant Professor, TBS and Joint Secretary, Jammu Chapter, NHRDN and Dr. Suvidha Khanna, Assistant Professor, SHTM, University of Jammu, were the resource persons on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, KK Goyal, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Jammu, discussed the various schemes and opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He reflected on schemes like 'Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance', 'Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme', 'Small Industries Cluster Development Programme', 'Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme' and others. Deepika Rana, Development Officer, JK Handicrafts elaborated upon the socio-economic significance of handicrafts in the State of J&K and explained about various measures taken up by the State Government and Department of handicrafts in particular, to encourage the growth of handicraft industry. She informed the students about the kind of training programmes being conducted by the Department that facilitate self-employment opportunities, welfare measures, recognition of craftsmen, marketing of handicrafts, design, development and dissemination and registration of Industrial Cooperative Societies. Dr. Suvidha Khanna, Assistant Professor, SHTM, University of Jammu, discussed the role of culture in promoting entrepreneurship in the State of J&K and highlighted the linkage between culture and heritage tourism for creating business opportunities in the untapped market. She suggested various initiatives that are still unexplored in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The awareness Seminar was recognizes with a view to promote entrepreneurial activity and opportunity in the State of Jammu and Kashmir in an interactive mode.Dr. Ridhi Sharma and Neha Gupta, lecturers at ICccR & HRM were the programme coordinators. |
