Azad will win RS polls: JKPCC | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 2: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today claimed that leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad would win the upcoming RS polls from Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement here the chief spokesman of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma said that news reports appearing in the section of press about state Congress being divided over Azad's candidature for the upper house are baseless. "To field Azad and seek the support of the National Conference was our collective decision. Some people with vested interests are trying to send wrong signals. They will get a befitting reply in upcoming RS polls when Azad sahib will emerge victorious," he added. The JKPCC chief spokesman said that Azad has the requisite numbers and he would easily sail through in the forthcoming RS polls, slated to be held later this week. |
