Majalta residents hold protest against Tehsildar's 'routine absence' from office | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 2 : People visiting the Tehsildar office Majalta, have been facing worst kinds of difficulties in settlement of their matters due to non-availability of Tehsildar in his office for most of the time in a week despite the fact that the revenue officer is not on leave. Irked over the behavior of officer today a large number of Majalta residents under the leadership of Kirpal Singh held a strong protest demonstration outside Tehsildar Majalta office today. Protesters were raising anti-tehsildar and administration slogans. Protesters alleged that the Tehsildar remained most of the time absent from duty due to which general masses are suffering badly. They also alleged beside providing relief and compensation to people affected with rains four months back revenue officer has given relief to those people who did not face any loss in rains and floods. Protesters also alleged the Tehsildar's wife is posted at PHC Majalta but no one has ever seen her on duty which shows autocratic working style of Tehsildar. They also alleged that BMO also remained absent from hospital most of the time and held him responsible for deteriorating condition of hospital. Protesters alleged that, the majority government employees holding the charge of key posts in different departments, particularly revenue officers are continuously violating their duty timings and some of them are even handling matters from their homes. They demanded inquiry from higher authorities against Tehsildar Majlata. |
