Gujjar get over wheeling support

In continuation of their protest against the police firing on Gujjar community in Rajasthan, various Gujjar organization of the state in their separate statements said, it was a deep rooted conspiracy of the Rajasthan Govt. to kill brutly Gujjars.
They have strongly urged the centre Govt. to intervene in the matter and impose president rule in the state of Rajasthan. They demanded that Central govt. should ensure that there will be no more killings of innocent Gujjars in the state.
J&K Gujjars united front in the meeting fully support the demand of Gujjars. They held dharna in front of divisional commissioners office in support of ST status to Gujjars of Rajasthan.
Vetean Gujjar and NC Leader Abdul Ghani Kohli extended the full support to the Gujjars of Rajasthan in their struggle for ST status. He pointed out that condition of gujjars of Rajasthan is similar to one prevailing in J&K and Himachal where this community is enjoying ST community status. He urged upon the Union of India to compel Rajasthan Govt. for declaring Gujjars of Rajasthan as belonging to ST Category. In case of failure of state government to do so, the Central Govt. should promulgate ordinance under Art. 342 in this regard. He assured Col. Bhainsla and Sachin Plot, MP of Dousa of support of Gujjars and Bakerwals of J&K in their present struggle for ST status.
Ch. Bashir Ahmad Khathana, President All India Nomadic Dodhi Gujjars Association and State Secretary, J&K Gujjars Bakerwals conference lambasted congress MP for letting lose terror on the Gujjars in the District of Kathua. He further said that in case Rajasthan Government fails to grant ST status to Gujjars, Vasundra’s government should be ready to face the consequences right and its logical conclusion.
Jat Kalyan Sabha organized meeting of its members in collaboration with Haji Abdul Majid, Advocate; President Sherit-ul-Nabi Conference and Secretary All India Muslim Personal Law Board (Zadeed) and other Gujjar leaders under the president of Ch. Kamal Singh and look serious note of the prevailing situation in Rajasthan. They urged upon the Rajasthan Government to concede the demand of the community at an earliest to avoid communal clashes in the state as their counterparts have already been given the ST status in other states.
Chanan Singh Toor, Ch. Harbans Lal, Ch. Nath Ram, Bhupinder Singh and Ch. Girdhari lal attended the meeting.
