| Patwari in Vigilance net, caught red handed | | | Jammu June 4- The State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed Mangat Ram, Patwari Halqa Paladpur while accepting Rs.1800 as bribe for issuing extracts of revenue record from a land owner in revenue complex Gole Gujral here. A Vigilance Organization handout said that one Ajay Kumar Badhyal son of Rattan Chand of Alora Sohnjana, Jammu lodged a written report with the police station Vigilance organization, here stating therein that the said Patwari is demanding Rs.1800 as illegal gratification for issuing revenue papers of his land measuring 3.7 marlas under survey No 290-mn situated at Parhaldpur colony in Phallian Mandal, Jammu. Upon the complaint, the organization registered case FIR NO 15/2007 and started investigation. In the course of investigation, the officials of the VO laid a successful trap at the revenue complex here today and caught the accused Mangat Ram red handed while accepting Rs.1800 as bribe from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses. The tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused, who was later taken into custody for further investigation.
