| Karbalai visits Sapi to assess peoples’ problems | | | Kargil June 4- To assess the problems of the people, Chairman Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai visited Sapi, the most educationally backward and remote village of the district. Situated at a distance of 72 Km from the district headquarter, Sapi remains cut off with rest of the district for about three months during the winters due to heavy snow fall. Gonbo Tsewang Nambardar and Councilor Mohammed Kazim of the area submitted a charter of demands on behalf of the villagers inter- alia demanding opening of anganwari centre, up gradation of middle school and medical aid centre, completion of link roads, setting up of tailing centre, provision of electricity, besides introduction of Haryali scheme in the village. The CEC assured the people that necessary measures would be taken to fulfill their genuine demands. While inspecting the health centre and Panchayat Ghar,Karbalaie sanctioned Rs. 50,000 for purchase of furniture articles for the panchayat ghar Sapi Among those who accompanied the CEC included Executive Councilor for works and power, Nasir Hussain Munshi, SE, PWD Haji Nayaz, DFO Chaturbhuja Behera, ACD Abdul Wahid and Executive Engineers of PHE and R&B.
